On 31 December and 1 January, Riga public transport will be free of charge; additional services will be provided on several routes
On 31 December and 1 January, all passengers will be able to travel for free on public transport in Riga, and tickets, including code tickets, on Riga Transport buses, trolleybuses and trams do not need to be registered. For the convenience of festive event visitors, additional services will be provided on several public transport routes on New Year's Eve. Rīgas satiksme managed parking lots will also be free of charge, except for the underground parking lot at K. Valdemāra iela 5A. During the holidays there will also be changes in the opening hours of Rīgas satiksme customer centres.
Public transport
On New Year's Day, 31 December, and New Year's Day, 1 January, Riga's public transport will be free for residents and visitors, so there is no need to register your e-talon and code ticket when boarding Riga Traffic buses, trolleybuses and trams!
On the night of 31 December to 1 January, additional services will be organised on several routes from the city centre at around 10:00. There will be special buses from the city centre to the city centre at 0.30 and 2.15.
- For buses, extra services will be organised on routes 3, the combined routes 12, 23, 26 (via Stone Bridge), 24, 25, 37, 51 and 53.
- For trams, additional services will be organised on routes 1, 5 (only on the Stacijas laukums-Mīlgrāvis section), 7 and 11.
- For trolleybuses, additional services will be organised on routes 4, 9, 15, 17 and 18.
To enable passengers to transfer between different routes in the city centre at night, vehicles scheduled to arrive in the city centre at around 02.00 will stop at the stops indicated below from 02.05 to 02.15 (10 minutes) in the city centre to allow passengers to transfer between routes and will leave at 02.15 for their final destination.
Parking
On 31 December and 1 January, Riga municipal paid parking lots managed by Rīgas satiksme will be free of charge, except for the underground parking lot at 5A K. Valdemāra Street, where you will be charged according to the current tariffs.
Customer service centres
On 30 December, the opening hours of the Customer Service Centre at 1 Spīķeru Street will be from 10.00 to 16.00, while the other Customer Service Centres will be closed. On 31 December and 1 January, all customer service centres will be closed.
